Purpose of Course:

This unit standard will provide recognition for those who facilitate or intend to facilitate learning using a variety of given methodologies. Formal recognition will enhance their employability and also provide a means to identify competent learning facilitators.

 

This generic assessor course is for those who assess people for their achievement of learning outcomes in terms of specified criteria using pre-designed assessment instruments.

This unit standard is for people who conduct internal or external moderation of outcomes-based assessments.

Learning Outcomes:

 

The qualifying learner will be able to:

 

  • Plan and prepare for facilitation;
  • Facilitate learning; and
  • Evaluate learning and facilitation.

The qualifying learner will be able to:

 

  • Carry out assessments in a fair, valid, reliable and practicable manner;
  • Demonstrate understanding of outcomes-based assessment;
  • Prepare for assessments;
  • Conduct assessments;
  • Provide feedback on assessments; and
  • Review assessments.

The qualifying learner will be able to:

 

  • Moderate assessments in terms of the relevant outcome statements and quality assurance requirements;
  • Use the prescribed QA procedures in a fair, valid, reliable and practicable manner;
  • Demonstrate understanding of moderation within the context of an OBE assessment system;
  • Plan and prepare for moderation;
  • Conduct moderation;
  • Advise and support assessors;
  • Report, record and administer moderation; and
  • Review moderation systems and processes.

 

Who should attend:

Individuals who facilitate at workplace or independent training providers.

Individuals who are responsible for assessing delegates' achievements at workplace or independent training providers and/or assessment centres.

 

Individuals who are responsible for moderating the OBE assessment practices at workplace or independent training providers and/or assessment centres.

Entry Requirements:

Candidate-facilitators need to be competent in the learning area in which training will be provided.

No previous assessment experience is necessary, although, candidate-assessors should have evaluative expertise within the area of learning in which they intend to assess. 

Candidate-moderators should have previous assessment experience and recognition for the unit standard 115753 - "Conduct OBE Assessments" as well as evaluative expertise within the field in which they are moderating assessments. 

 

Venue:

Training will be held in Benoni, Gauteng

The venue location will be determined and communicated to delegates prior to the commencement of training.

Facilitation, Assessment & Moderation:

Facilitation, Assessment and Moderation activities will only be conducted by professionals who are qualified and experienced in their fields.

Learning Resources:

Delegates will receive a Learning Resources Toolkit CD comprising valuable resources and "take-home" tools to aid the enhancement and implementation of learning in the practical environment.

 

Terms and Conditions:

Course Fees and Payment Regulations

 

  1.       i.        Course fees must be clearly communicated in telephonic enquiries and in all promotional and marketing material including course brochures, booking forms and delegate registration forms.
  2.     ii.        A non-refundable booking fee of R 1000-00 must accompany all course bookings.
  3.    iii.        Full course fees are payable two (2) weeks prior to the commencement of the course and on receipt of invoice.
  4.    iv.        Payment must be made by electronic funds transfers (EFT) or cheque at the latest one (1) week / seven (7) days prior to the commencement of the course.
  5.      v.        Proof of payment must be e-mailed to renee@setaservices.co.za prior to confirmation of bookings.
  6.    vi.        Course bookings will not be accepted within 7 days prior to the commencement of the course unless there is a cancellation, or by special arrangement with Management.

Delegate Withdrawals, Cancellations and Refunds

 

      i.        A delegate is permitted to withdraw from a course within 3 days of booking and registration on a course.

    ii.        Booking cancellations received after 3 days from date of booking / registration, and within 2 weeks of the commencement of the course will not receive a full refund. Delegates will have the option to be booked on the next suitable available course date.

   iii.        The delegate will be responsible for the full course fee if the withdrawal or cancellation of a course is received more than 7 days from registration or once the course has commenced.

   iv.        The full course fee is payable for cancellations made after 3 days of booking.

     v.        The booking fee charged for enrollment on a course is strictly non-refundable.

   vi.        Should a course be postponed by Prestige ETD Group for any reason whatsoever, fully paid delegates will have the option of being booked on the next suitable course date at no extra charge.

  vii.        Should a course be cancelled by Prestige ETD Group for any reason whatsoever, fully paid delegates will receive a full refund.
